Welcome to the online home of the most captivating and mindless party pastime around.

The Mustache Game is a drinking game and celebration of our inherent love for diversion, exhilaration and embellishment. One that brings people together like never before.

The concept is simple. In fact, it’s a lot like Roulette, with movies and fake mustaches instead of wheels, balls and croupiers. Actually, maybe Pin the Tail on the Donkey is a better analogy. But replace paper donkeys with upper lips of actors; pins with fake mustaches; children with probability; blindfolds with destiny; and walking with sitting.

The Rules

Number of Players

  • 4 to 6 players is ideal
  • Should you choose to proceed with a larger group, select a viewing area and screen that will accommodate

What You Need To Play

  • Film
  • Method for viewing film (TV or computer)
  • Mustaches (ideally one per person)
    • Digital: collection within the TMG Bookmarklet
    • Physical: collection from TMG Cutout Kit (or make your own)
  • Enough American-style lager (or preferred drinking beer) for every player

Getting Started

  • In an orderly fashion, agree upon a film of choice
  • Select mustaches (one per player)
    • Digital: install the TMG bookmarklet on your browser
    • Physical: cut out enough from the TMG Cutout Kit (or, again, make your own)
  • Determine the order of mustache placement
    • Popular methods include: according to age, height, intelligence or fiscal standing; and, Rock-paper-scissors
  • Place (by dragging or taping) each mustache on an unclaimed area of the screen

The Play

While the basic rules are simple, they can be tailored, and invented, to better suit the group, film, mood, etc.

  • Once it is agreed that the screen is adequately covered, and all are seated, the film may begin
  • When a player’s mustache strikes, lining up perfectly, with a character’s upper lip, they must take a sip of their drink
  • During play, if original mustache placements prove to be disappointing, the group may agree to pause activity and adjust

Winning

To win is to cherish the thrill of steady strikes and sips; and to embrace the spirit of The Mustache Game adventure. Please do so safely and raucously.

  1. Gather group of friends
  2. Choose a film and cue it up
  3. Select mustaches
  4. Place mustaches on screen
  5. Start film
  6. When your mustache strikes the upper lips of those on screen, suffer/enjoy the consequences: a sip of American-style lager (or preferred drinking beer)
